-
Embryo cryopreservation is a type of fertility preservation. The process involves in vitro fertilization (IVF), in which eggs are removed from the ovaries and combined with sperm in a laboratory. The resulting embryos are frozen and safely stored for future use.
-
The long-term storage process begins with your fertility clinic freezing your tissues and securely sending them to our facility. Then, we'll store your materials safely for as long as you need. When you're ready to use your tissues, HavenCryo will assist in transferring them to your current fertility clinic or any new provider where you are receiving care.
-
Embryo storage costs will vary depending on what you’re storing and the length of time you need storage. At HavenCryo, our prices range from $395 for one year to $2,400 for ten years. You can calculate your estimated costs here.
-
Some fertility-related expenses, such as IVF, intrauterine insemination (IUI), and short-term egg, sperm, or embryo storage, may be tax deductible. Long-term storage is more of a gray area, so you should speak with a financial advisor about your options. It's important to note that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) only allows you to deduct total qualified medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of your adjusted gross income (AGI).
-
Some fertility treatments like IVF and IUI may be FSA eligible. However, healthcare expenses related to long-term embryo storage typically aren’t covered under an FSA, as they aren’t considered part of an immediate medical need to conceive. Learn more here.
